The Golf IV through VII have an RCD or RNS radio with a VWZ serial number. After entering a wrong code you have 2 attempts, then "SAFE" appears and you must wait 1 hour.
Remove the radio with a Torx T20 screwdriver. The VWZ serial number is on the label on the side or back of the radio.

Note the full serial number (starts with VWZ)
Enter the serial number when placing your order
Enter the received code using the radio buttons
You only have 2 attempts — enter the code carefully
After an incorrect entry "SAFE" appears — wait 1 hour with ignition on
Golf VII with Discover Media or Discover Pro does not need a separate code
